I. Introduction
This catalogue configured by World Data Center (WDC) for Ionosphere and Space Weather,
and lists all the data received by WDC Ionosphere and Space Weather including ionosphere vertical soundings
observed by about 320 associated stations in the world.
The stations are arranged in the alphabetical order in addition to geographic
and geomagnetic coordinates and categories of observational programs, the capital letter
symbols IGY, IQSY and IASY are indicated on the remarks column.
These symbols mean that the data measured during the period of international
cooperative observation year are preserved in the form of monthly tables.
II. Categories of data listed in the catalogue
The observational programs are denoted in accordance with the
"Guide to international data exchange through the world data centers".
B 1 Ionosphere Vertical Soundings
B 2 Topside Soundings
B 4 Oblique Incidence Soundings
B 7 Absorption - Method A1 (Pulse echo)
B 8 Absorption - Method A2 (Riometer)
B 9 Absorption - Method A3 (CW Field-Strength)
B10 Ionospheric Drifts
B12 Ionospheric Back-Scatter
B13 Whistlers and VLF Emissions
B14 Atmospheric Radio Noise

IV. Key to symbols
IV-1. Key to symbols used in this catalogue tables
X - indicates complete month of data held
P - indicates partial month of data held
S - indicates monthly median values only held
W - indicates data only achieved for Regular World Days and/or Special World Intervals held
R - indicates partial month of data in addition to said "W" held
N - no measurements made
IV-2. Key to symbols used in Ionosphere Vertical Sounding and Topside Sounding
D - Daily worksheets
M - Monthly tables of hourly values (14 parameters)by manual scaling
I - Ionograms
F - f-plots
E - E-plots
H - h'-plots
FES - fEs-plots
HES - h'Es-plots
MA - Monthly tables of hourly values
(foF2,fmin,fEs) and monthly medians
(h'Es,h'F) by automatic scaling
S - Ionogram summary plots *
(*) Ionogram summary plots consist of three parts.
First two parts show diurnal variations of the frequency range of the echoes reflected from the F and E regions, respectively.
The other part indicates the diurnal variation of the virtual height where the echo traces become horizontal in ionogram.
